Five questions with Jordy

Five questions with Jordy—Cornerstone Anglican Church Box Hill

Tell us about a moment from this week that you want to remember.
Watching my one-year-old son and his three-year-old cousin chase each other around their grandma’s house and hearing their loud laughter and watching the huge smiles on their faces is something I hope I never forget!

What did you do last weekend?
Last weekend, I went to KYCK with some of the youth from Cornerstone Youth. KYCK is a conference for high schoolers to learn more about the Lord. It was an incredible weekend with lots of laughs, good food, and, most importantly, good teaching about how we can find freedom through Jesus! At KYCK, I got to witness approximately 100 youth decide to put their trust in Jesus. It was an incredible thing to witness—something I will never forget!

Can you share a favourite Bible verse with us?
I love Romans 8:39. ‘Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to seperate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.’ What a beautiful reminder of the love God has for us.

Tell us about your favourite meal growing up.
Watermelon salad! Nothing beats watermelon salad. I know it isn’t technically a meal, but throw some protein (preferably chicken) on the side, and that’s my favourite meal.

Who or what has encouraged you recently?
My friend Judy has really encouraged me lately. Judy is part of our Firm Foundations Bible study on Wednesday evenings. Despite not being a Christian for very long, Judy has such a deep understanding of God’s grace and His goodness. Judy’s desire to share God’s word with those around her is such an encouragement. It is so evident how much joy Judy now has since finding Jesus.
